Suvarnabhumi Airport

This afternoon I finally decided I should drive over to the new airport at Suvarnabhumi before it became too late. For the past month, they had been running daily tours of the new airport in preparation for its grand opening at the end of next month. I think the idea was to familiarize people with the new location which covers a much bigger area than the present international airport at Don Muang. Yesterday, I read in the newspaper that today would be the last day for the tours because of security concerns following the failed airplane attacks in the UK. So, I packed my camera and headed out towards Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Suvarnabhumi AirportOne of the most exciting prospects for us about the new international airport is that it is located in our backyard in Samut Prakan. The old international airport (funny how I am saying that even though it hasn’t closed down yet) is located north of Bangkok which is the opposite end to us. Now, we didn’t have to pass through the traffic in Bangkok. However, we would have to contend with local traffic. I was curious to see which airport we could reach quicker. The first part of my journey was from Paknam to the Bang-Na Trad Highway. The traffic was slow moving and it took us about 30 minutes to reach Central City Bang Na. However, the highway was much faster going. There has been signs on this road for a year or so now. This was the first time I would follow them. It was quite easy, though at one point an airport sign said turn left and another said go straight on!

Booking a transfer in advance would be one of the cheapest and most effortless way to get to Pattaya from Bangkok airport. Any taxi or transfer you catch once at the airport will cost you more, sometimes even twice this much.

For booking an airport transfer, you need to submit your exact flight information (where are you coming from and what is your flight number) and your name. Then you will have a driver waiting for you at Bangkok airport arrivals and bringing you to the address you specify within Pattaya.

To book a transfer from Pattaya back to the airport, our taxi driver will need the time you want to leave. Please calculate sufficient amount of time to get to the airport and then another hour and half for checking in on international flights.

For booking the airport transfer, you need a taxi company you are comfortable with. We are confident that we can provide the best service for your transfer service to and from Bangkok airport.

Once you submitted a request for booking for an airport transfer, typically you will receive an email confirmation, confirming that a transfer is booked for you.

Thailand Airport

ASIA Thailand : Ericsson has successfully completed the turnkey project of designing and integrating a multi-operator In-Building Solution (IBS) at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand's new international airport. The Ericsson IBS solution enables commuters and staff members of the airport, poised to be a major transportation hub in South East Asia, to enjoy advanced communications with seamless and high-quality coverage, as well as international roaming services.

The IBS system incorporates six different technologies, including WCDMA, and GSM. This solution will also be the foundation for the airport's in-building communications network to migrate smoothly to 3G in the future.

Ericsson was awarded the contract for the IBS solution for the new airport by the country's top five mobile operators -- Advanced Info Service (AIS), DTAC, True Move, Hutchison CAT Wireless and Thai Mobile.

As the prime integrator, Ericsson was commissioned to provide a comprehensive range of services, including program management, network design, installation, integration and testing for the combined wireless application solutions that will serve the five operators' customers.

At the same time, they will also enjoy the value-added services that AIS is offering them."

Chutichai Napasab, CTO, Hutchison CAT Wireless, says: "We are confident that Ericsson's In-Building Solutions will deliver smooth connections to our customers in both mobile telephony and wireless internet. This is important as we believe Suvarnabhumi Airport will be a key hub for international and domestic commuters."

Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, True Corporation Plc, adds that "True Move is happy to work together with Ericsson along with the other mobile operators for this IBS project. This mutual appointment reflects the good cooperation between Thai mobile operators and Ericsson in providing solutions that are optimised for superior end-user experience."

"This is indeed a significant milestone for Ericsson Thailand and we are honoured to have the trust of the country's five largest mobile operators to develop and implement the best-in-class in-building communication solutions, adding that Ericsson's global experience and strengths had been key in ensuring the success of the project, backed by a strong local presence and expertise," he added.

Under the project, around 1,200 antennas were installed to cover the whole area of the new Suvarnabhumi Airport, including 563,000 square metres of public area and car park space. Scheduled to open late this year, the airport is expected to serve up to 45 million passengers each year and this number may double to 120 million when the airport's second phase is completed.

New Home

We have been living in our small one bedroom basement apartment for almost a year now and we are bursting at the seams. We needed to get into a new place or else I might have lost my mind because of the clutter. We are so excited to move into our new temporary home just a few blocks away from our place now. My Grandma and Grandpa Finnegan are going on a mission and needed someone to house sit for them while they were gone. We are so grateful for them and this opportunity to live in their beautiful home and we are so proud of the Finnegan's and their chance to share the gospel. Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!

The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney/MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom combine to form one dynamic world. In the Magic Kingdom, you will find yourself amongst a world of fantasy. In Epcot, you will discover a world of technology, innovations, and cultures. In Disney/MGM Studios, you will be transported into the world of show business, and finally, in Disney's Animal Kingdom, you will go on wild adventures. ...

“It was traditional Christmas music, but a little bit more jazzy,” Schuler said. “The whole thing was choreographed.”

For students, the weeklong trip began Dec. 26 by boarding a bus for a 30- hour ride to the Sunshine State, but preparation for the trip began months in advance. at the beginning of the school year, students prepared by learning the 15 songs that would be performed during the candlelight concert. the jazz choir had to learn additional songs and choreography for their 25 minute show.

Disney World Orlando Epcot“You had to know what you were doing otherwise, you would be completely lost,” junior Rosina Halversonstuder, who participated in both shows, said. “We had to learn every single thing before we left and have it completely memorized.”

When the students weren’t singing, they stayed busy taking in all the parks had to offer. Iverson said students would stay out from 9 a.m. to midnight every night to take in all the sights.

The first day students explored Epcot, followed by the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, MGM, and Universal Studios – complete with trips to the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

“That was where I spent my entire day,” Halversonstuder said, noting that she bought a magic wand. “They did the whole ‘the wand chooses you’ thing, and picked me. I felt like I was Harry Potter.”

Another group of students, known as “The Original Six” by their classmates, traveled around the different parks singing songs and playing the ukulele. by the end of the trip, they had received quite a following from Disney staffers.

“They made friends with the Disney workers and got free ride passes for singing,” Schuler said.

The choir spent New Years at Hollywood Studios, witnessing a spectacular fireworks show as 2010 turned to 2011. Halversonstuder said the fireworks from each theme park could be seen lighting up the night sky.

Walt Disney World Orlando

While the details of each theme park injury differ, there are some similarities we have seen. For example, the amusement parks and resorts of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando attract large crowds of visitors. This increases the need for workers to reasonably ensure the premises remain safe and secure. With efforts to increase profits, corporations have a tendency to lay-off workers and may not provide sufficient coverage for its guests.

Another similarity in theme park injury cases is that the visitors are often distracted. Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando are famous for awesome creations, parades and fireworks display. These displays and attractions are meant to captivate their audiences. Therefore, it is important for pedestrian areas and walkways to take this into consideration. Too many times we have seen injury and accidents due to theme park distractions and crowds.

Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando will always be fun places to visit. We hope that each will remember that their guests assume they have done all they should to make their visit a safe one.
