Did X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos send home The Keys for being too posh?

By Daily Mail Reporter

Class war? It has been claimed that Tulisa Contostavlos has ditched The Keys from the live shows because of their posh background

She often speaks out about her tough upbringing and humble background, but Tulisa Contostavlos is being accused of making decisions on the X Factor based on the class of her contestants.

The N-Dubz singer is said to have axed popular boyband The Keys from her final line up for the live shows because they are too posh.

Three of the five singers, Rohan Kapoor, Nick Jackson and Dan Lipman, all aged 24, went to all went to £13,794-a-year public school, St Albans School.

Lewis Codling, 23, and Charlie Healy, 25, who did not attend the expensive school, finish the lineup in the band.

While the band proved popular receiving praise from all four judges as well as building a fan following on social networking sites, Tulisa decided to axe them from the competition ahead of the live performances.

Viewers will see the decision aired this weekend as Tulisa makes her choices for the live shows.

A source said: ‘The lads were absolutely devastated but they felt Tulisa didn't warm to them. She gave them the impression she saw them as posh toffs trying to be street rappers.’

Annoyed: The Keys Rohan, Lewis, Charlie, Daniel and Nick are said to be annoyed their band was not put through

‘The other groups like The Risk had a more urban street-wise feel about them and the lads from The Keys are convinced that's why Tulisa didn't pick them.’

‘Perhaps she thought they were trying to be like a posh N-Dubz.’

‘It smacked to them of a decison based on a difference in their social backgrounds rather than their ability to sing.’

At their first audition Gary Barlow gushed about the and said: ‘Guys, that was magnificent, really good. Individually you have got good vocals and you work as a team.’

‘The vocals are beautiful, they are smooth, you have really worked hard. I just thought it was awesome.’

Louis Walsh told them: ‘We have been waiting for a group like you guys.’

While Tulisa chose to send Rohan, Nick, Dan and Lewis home she did offer Charlie Healy a lifeline.

Charlie is said to have replaced Marlon from The Risk.

A source said: 'For some - as yet undisclosed - reason, at the last minute, Tulisa decided Marlon's face didn't fit and removed him from The Risk.'

'It has been claimed by some sources that he was replaced by a singer named Charlie Healy, who originally auditioned as part of The Keys, who also made judges houses.'

A spoeksperson for Tulisa was not available for comment earlier today.
