Are you a Gleek?

If you haven't heard of the new smash TV show Glee by now, then you must be living under a rock in the middle of a desert!

Fox has aired the first 13 episodes in the US and the show is currently on a 4 month hiatus. A further 9 episodes are planned (starting to air on Fox in April) and some of the guest names that have been whispered for these are Wicked's Idina Menzel and Grease's very own Olivia Newton-John. Both TV3 in Ireland and E4 in the UK have started to air the show this week and viewers should see no break between the original 13 and new 9 episodes.

The show has spawned two albums and an array of singles (the songs featured in each episode are realeased when the show airs) with the Journey classic Don't Stop Believing getting as high as number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Click here for full charting details (updated as the show begins to air in new territories).

Personally, I think that this is a welcome change to all of the detective and police dramas that are farmed out by the US networks and thats why its become such a sucess. Alongside the music and dancing, there are some genuinely laugh out loud funny and touching moments and a storyline that will keep you gripped. Oh and make sure to check out cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester - she's a hilarious nutcase!

If you haven't managed to catch it, then click here to find out when it airs where you are! It's an hour of feel good tv (a change from whats normally shown) and ... if I may be so bold as to say ... this would be the new Friends.

2010 is the year of Glee .... You have been warned!
