X Factor - Week 3 ... LIVE BLOG!

Straight over to ITV1 and the cast of the X Factor!

It's Paije Richardson starting us off tonight with Ain't Nobody - a very comfortable performance with some very good vocals. Simon is being an arsehole about it as usual - something tells me that he's gonna do this to all of the acts tonight to try and sour the public because his groups are shit.

Next up is Louis Walsh's first over 28 - John Adelaye and I don't know what song he's singing. The problem with the judges picking old songs is that the younger viewers (the ones who actually vote) have no idea what the song is and whether the performance is any good or not. Not sure what the dancers were doing in the background during that though. Judges are giving positive feedback ... apart from Simon (shock horror).

Straight into Cheryl's first act Rebecca Ferguson and she's singing the same song that Jessica Rabbit sang in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Fantastic performance but not sure about the outfit or hair (the hair in particular makes her look like Cheryl ... i.e. cheap and tacky). Good comments from the judges - Simon laying it on a bit thick for my liking.

Sidenote: I love the fact that there's a whole load of Kylie Minogue tracks being used as background music!

Oh dear god, here we go again. Cher Lloyd is over hyped and talentless (much like her mentor). It's singing a mash up of No Diggity and Shout. I didn't get it at all but as usual the judges are heaping praise on her. The less I say about this one, the better.

Sidenote: That ad break is another example of how shit group performances are on this show

Here he is! Matt Cardle is singing Hit Me Baby One More Time - when I read that I didn't know what to make of it, but I love the fact that it's just him and his guitar. Loved the vocal and the toned down performance and the crowd are going wild for it. Judges have very positive comments. Matt is one of my favourites on the show because he's just brilliant!

And now on to the first of the groups - One Direction ... we all know that Liam can sing but tonight I actually got goosebumps when they sang together. One small criticism is that the backing track is really loud so it can be difficult to hear the boys (maybe this is done on purpose?). This band are safe this week - they have the 12 year old girl vote (and the priest vote).

Another one of Cheryl's girls now (the best of Cheryl's acts if you ask me) - Treyc Cohen! With a voice as big as Treyc's, she shouldn't need all these dancers. Still loved it though - she was the ultimate rock chick! Judges loving her, but Simon sniping at her a bit saying that she didn't hit the big notes. Let's see if Belle Amie can sing like that Simon!

Okay, quiet everyone here comes Mary Byrne (the pride of Ireland)! She looks sultry and the vocal was SPOT ON - she gave me goosebumps! The judges absolutely love Mary but are commenting on the fact that she always sings the same type of song (on which I would have to agree). Go on Mrs Byrne!!

Sidenote: Dear Cheryl - please speak slowly because you are very difficult to understand when you talk fast.

Now on to Mr Aiden Grimshaw who gave a shaky performance last week and is lucky to be still here. He's giving a much better vocal this week and the overall performance is interesting. Louis loves him (hes a young boy, of course he does) as does Simon. He's another one who'll be around for a long time if he keeps the song choices under control!

Now on to Belle Amie. A muted performance but I have to ask if this band have ever heard of a harmony because when they're all singing together they're all over the place. Louis is making crazy accusations that Simon has abandoned the girls in favour of One Direction (obviously the botox is going to his head). They're gonna be in danger again this week!

Nearly finished! On to the madness that is Wagner (pronounced Vagner). I look forward to this part of the show every week because its always mental and this week will not disappoint! The Spice Girls? Really? Another candidate for the bottom two. The judges look stunned!

And the final contestant is Katie Waissel (you know her - the Madonna copycat). How did we go from talking about Madonna in the taped bit to the Jungle Book?? As much as she annoys me, it was a fantastic song choice and a quirky performance! Judges love it of course!

And that's it for another Saturday night ... I'm off for some dinner now!
