Kylie Les Folies Tour: Review (Act 1)

Kylie's Les Folies tour is the most extravagant, most expensive and most visually breathtaking show I have ever had the pleasure to witness ... twice. The schedule sees Miss M performing 63 times across 21 different countries (if we count England, Scotland and Wales as separate countries) on 4 different continents - quite a feat!

As the European leg comes to a close (there are only two more London shows before she jets off to Japan), I've been thinking back and have decided to review the awesomeness of the show ... act by act.

Let's get down to business. Picture this, your standing in the crowd and the lights go down and the curtains up - Aphrodite is on her way! The stage immediately springs to life as the screens between the columns show underwater antics. The bass gets heavier and heavier until we hear the voice! "I'm fierce and I'm feeling mighty, I'm a Golden Girl, I'm and Aphrodite, Alright". Suddenly the dancers head to the back of the stage to usher our goddess up from beneath the stage .... and boy, does she make an entrance. Atop a golden shell, Kylie rises up to the screams of the crowd and begins the 2 hours of madness that feels like it passes in the blink of an eye.

Surrounded by men in her team of hot talented dancers, Kylie breezes through her opening set with ease. For all I care, she could be singing the phone book - I just want to see her on stage looking happy and feeling the love from the crowd.

She has fun with the opening number and title track from the album Aphrodite before slowing things down with the fan favourite from her X album The One. She rounds out with Wow which really gets the crown going. Then she disappears behind the stage for costume change number 1, leaving the crowd in the very capable hands of backing singers - more on them later.

Here's a video of the start of the opening act so you can see all the elements of the show:
