It has been announced that the Kylie Les Folies tour will be shown on Sky TV on June 19th. Not only with the broadcast be shown in High Definition on Sky1HD, but those of you with 3D televisions will also be able to watch it unfols on Sky3D!

I think I may have to take that Monday off work.....

After a 2 month Christmas hiatus, Glee returned to US on Sunday night with an episode showing straight after the Super Bowl and another new episode scheduled for tomorrow night. It will be a while before these are shown in Ireland or the UK, so here's a sneak peek at what happened in the post-Super Bowl episode!



The episode attracted 26.8 million viewers - it's biggest ever audience and the highest ratings for a scripted show in 3 years!

Golden Globes 2011 - Jane Lynch

We can't mention the Golden Globes without showing Jane Lynch's acceptance speech. She beat off some stiff competition from Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) and her speech was brilliant!

Chris Colfer wins Golden Globe Award

Last night, we told you how Rick Gervais upset some of the audience at the Golden Globes with his jokes (which I still think are hilarious - especially the Hugh Heifner one). Well aside from all that controversy, there were some awards given out too!

Ricky Gervais is a LEGEND

Sunday night saw the 2011 Golden Globe awards on NBC and the biggest talking point was Ricky Gervais and his jokes. While some celebrities clearly found him to be hilarious (watch out for Alec Baldwin and Robert De Niro in the video below), some A listers complained that his jokes were mean spirited. Oh boo hoo - you get paid millions to star in your films - suck it up!

Gervais did disappear for an hour of the show and was much less vocal when he came back on stage, so what was said and will he ever host an awards show again? Only time will tell.....



If it were up to me, he'd present these awards every year!

2010 - Year In Review Part 5

In Ireland, we don't really have much to worry about when it comes to the TV as the national broadcaster puts out utter crap with license payers money and TV3 rebroadcasting programmes from all over the world with limited original programming.

That's why its always fun to watch the TV wars in th UK. This year saw BBC's Eastenders celebrate 25 years on air with a 30 minute live episide while ITV's Coronation Street celebrated 50 years on air with a 60 minute live episode. BBC moved Strictly to earlier timeslots on Saturday and Sunday nights so that they didn;t overlap (where possible) with the juggernaut that is ITV's X Factor. But while ITV programmes generally get more viewers, there has been criticism that it's "lowest common denominator" television and is sensationalised to draw in advertisers.

My personal favourite out of everything this year was the Eastenders 25 episode back in February. The acting may have been questionable and some of the actors did trip over their lines, but we finally found out who killed Archie Mitchell (albeit in tragic circumstances). Here are the best bits from that show:

Glee Shocker!

I sat down to watch Glee as usual on Friday night and, boy was I in for a shock! I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet so it's after the jump! It comes from the episode "Never Been Kissed" which aired in the states last week.

Strictly Come Dancing - Week 3 Results

Another week and another dancer leaves the floor - Paul Daniels and last years professional dancer winner Ola Jordan left the competition after receiving the lowest judges score last night of just 16. Paul was a character and his dances (however technically painful to watch) were funny.

Am I the only person that's slightly in love with Artem Chigvintsev? Here's hoping that (like Kara) his costumes get shorter and tighter as the series goes on!

Meanwhile, some sad news that's broken in New Zealand means that Brendan Cole has had to return home and will be replaced with Ian Waite for next weeks show.

X Factor - Week 2 Results

So another week has come to an end in the X Factor studio. Tonight we said good goodbye to Storm Lee (ridiculous name) and Diva Fever (who were my favourites last night) in another double elimination. Storm went out first based on the public vote and that left Diva Fever and Belle Amie fighting it out in the sing off. Yes, thats right - 2 of Simon Cowell's acts in the sing off! Diva Fever were up first and gave an okay performance of I Will Survive but they were blown out of the water by Belle Amie and their rendition of Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry. Louis, Dannii and Cheryl all voted to send Diva Fever home, saving Simon the agony of having to choose which one of his own acts he wanted to get rid of.

The entertainment was provided by the delectable Diana Vickers and the ever gorgeous Katy Perry. Personally, I preferred Diana's singing but Katy's overall performance was better with the choreography and fireworks.

X Factor - Week 2 Performaces

Okay, so Heroes Week was hit and miss. Before we get top the acts, we need to address the fact that for 14 contestants, there was 12 ad breaks. TWELVE! I know that X Factor is one of ITV's biggest shows, but come on!

Now lets look at the acts...

Dannii & The Boys

Aiden Grimshaw - Sang the John Lennon song Jealous Guy. He looked like someone with a nervous tick the way he walked/stumbled across the stage. Vocals were weak and he didn't manage to hit the high note that he was worried about.

Score: 6/10

Matt Cardle - Stunning vocal on the Bruno Mars hit Just The Way You Are! He hit every note and looked much better without the hat. The man is sex on legs.

Score: 10/10

Paije Richardson - Sang If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. Looked comfortable and confident on stage. Don't understand why he wasn't one of the top 3 in this group.

Score: 8/10

Cheryl & The Girls

Treyc Cohen - Sang Purple Rain by Prince. Not as good as the Ruth Lorenzo version a couple of years back (remember her?) but was spot on. Best girl of the night.

Score: 9.5/10

Katie Waissel - Sang I Would Rather Go Blind by Etta James. Drastically stripped back performance from last week and was much better.

Score: 7/10

Rebecca Ferguson - Sang Feeling Good by Nina Simone. Seemed to lack confidence - no eye contact with the audience or camera. Styling was a bit off.

Score: 8/10

Cher Lloyd - Sang Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z. Someone needs to tell this girls that she's a 5ft tall white chick, not a black rapper. From the comments on facebook and twitter, it seems like she doesn't have much support. I'm personally not a fan

Score: 7/10

Simon & The Groups

Belle Amie - Sang You Really Got Me Going by The Kinks. Very slick production - reminded me of the Saturdays. Major improvement on last week.

Score: 7/10

One Direction - Sang My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson. Weak vocals but I'm sure that their army of teenage/paedo fans will get them through to next week.

Score: 6/10

Diva Fever - Sang Barbra Streisand by Duck Sauce. Again, not a strong vocal, but they are the most fun act on the entire show. I could see their version of this song hitting number 1!

Score: 9/10

Louis & The Over 28's

Storm Lee - Sang Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen. Vocal was very shouty, not sure if he was suited to the song. Overall performance was good - think he might be in danger.

Score: 6/10

John Adeleye - Sang Song For You by Donny Hathaway. Heartfelt performance from what seems like a genuinely nice guy. I hope he goes far in the competition.

Score: 9/10

Wagner - Sang Just Help Yourself by Tom Jones. Bonkers performance, crap routine and honestly thought that some of it was sung in a different language.

Score: 5/10

Mary Byrne -Sang You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Dusty Springfield. Another fantastic performance, perfect vocal and is the obvious crown fave!

Score: 10/10

My prediction for the two people leaving tomorrow would be Cher Lloyd and Wagner! Stay tued tomorrow evening to see if I'm right.

Banksy does the Simpsons

This has to be the best set of opening credits for the Simpsons ever! Banksy takes a look behind the Simpsons ... right into the factory that draws the cartoon and makes the merchandise. Brilliant!

The X Factor – Week 1

Okay so week 1 hasn’t gone quite to plan with Nicolo and FYD being sent home, but all in all the live shows have certainly started off with a bang. First up there was THE TWIST which everyone had pretty much guessed as soon as last weeks shows had ended (and Gamu still didn't get in!). T’was good to see Paije, Diva Fever, Wagner and Trayc back, but it was Mary Byrne who stole the show for me with her stunning performance of This is a Mans World. It gave me goosebumps!

On the hottie front, we have the 2 delectable boys Aiden and Danny (not quite up to the standard of Gavin Henson and Matt Baker from Strictly Come Dancing, but we’ll get on to that tomorrow). I don’t think i can pick a favourite so I'll just have to take them both!

The results show was a bit of a let down with the final 16 miming badly to The Rythym of the Night (one of 1Direction even forgot to put the microphone to his mouth before he sang!). Then on to Usher, who is sex on legs, but wasn't the best live and don't get me started on auld snaggletooth Joe McElderry. I’m just thankful that he wasn’t wearing skinny jeans.

If I'd had my way, either Cher or Katie would have been in the bottom 2 based on their Saturday night performances (although Katie did a remarkable job in the sing off and was the right choice to stay).

One final thought – the judges picked the 12 “strongest” acts to go to the live shows, but it was the wildcards that sailed through show 1……
