What a difference a day makes....

This time yesterday, I posted about my trip to London and sang its praises. Today a student protest turned nasty and slightly ruined that memory. During the "rampage", protestors broke into the Conservative party HQ in London and smashed windows before storming to the roof. Injuries were narrowly averted when one of the idiots launched a fire extinguisher from the roof - if it had hit someone they would almost certainly have been killed.

In my opinion, they were right to protest at the planned increase in tuition fees (especiall after the Lib Dems made one of their policies to abolish them), but the group of militant protestors who started smashing windows and lighting flares have completely taken the focus off their cause. At the end of the day, who cares about students now that they've wreaked havoc in central London. I appreciate that the violent protests were by the few rather than the majority, but people will tar them all with the same brush.

And in case you have no idea what i'm talking about (I'll be honest, even I get lost sometimes), you can catch up by clicking the link below.
